What is sports and orthopedic physical therapy at MOTiV?
It is one-on-one physical therapy with Storm Wilson, PT, DPT, OCS, a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist. MOTiV lists the service on Google as: One-on-one orthopedic and sports PT for injury recovery, pain relief, and return to activity.

"From an athlete who's injured and trying to get back to sport, it can be a tough time because a lot of providers just don't get it."
Orthopedic means the muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments. Sports means the plan is built around what you do when you are not hurt. A marathoner with knee pain and a powerlifter with the same knee pain may get the same diagnosis and very different plans, because the end point is different.
Storm sees every client one-on-one, from the first evaluation on. The person who assessed you is the person who adjusts the plan when something changes. Physical therapy is the center of sports medicine at MOTiV, alongside gait analysis, return-to-sport testing and dry needling.
MOTiV has a muscle meter, a device that measures strength. Storm uses it in PT to record objective strength measures, with testing chosen for your needs and progress.
Because MOTiV is self-pay, there is no insurance company approving visits or capping how many you can have. The self-pay physical therapy page explains how that works.
What injuries does sports physical therapy treat?
Storm treats new injuries and pain, provides prevention and non-surgical care, and sees many clients for rehab after ACL reconstruction and meniscus surgery. He treats neck, back and shoulder pain, hip and knee pain, foot and ankle conditions, running injuries and limited mobility.
Book a visit when one of these sounds like you:
- Pain that changes how you run, lift or play, or that shows up at the same point in every session.
- An injury that has not settled after the rest you gave it, or keeps coming back when you train again.
- Rehabilitation after ACL reconstruction or meniscus surgery.
- Stiffness or limited range that makes everyday movement harder than it used to be.
You do not need to be an athlete. Pain that keeps you from walking, playing with your kids or taking a gym class is also a reason to book.
If you call about something Storm does not treat, he will refer you elsewhere.
What happens at the first physical therapy visit?
The first visit is the initial evaluation, $150, one-on-one with Storm. Storm learns what you are dealing with and what you want to get back to, then sets out a plan.
Bring the details that matter: when the pain started, what makes it better or worse, any imaging or surgery notes, and the training you were doing before. Wear clothes you can move in.
The first visit includes completing intake forms that screen for precautions. During the roughly 60-minute visit, you discuss your goals, complete a movement and strength assessment, and start individualized exercise and hands-on treatment when appropriate. Storm tests a movement, treats it, then retests it in the same session to see what changed.
After the visit
Before you leave, ask what Storm found, what to do before the next visit and what to avoid. If exercise is part of the plan, the Be Strong floor has racks, sleds, turf and cardio machines in the same building.
The MOTiV Performance portal supports exercise guidance and home exercise programs, along with training logs, notes and coach communication. Virtual coaching plans are separate services listed on the pricing page.
How many visits will I need?
A typical plan is 6 to 8 visits, but your injury, goals and progress determine the number you need. Storm discusses an estimate with you at the evaluation and adjusts the plan as you go.

Ask at each visit what has changed and what would mean you are done. Clear end points are easier to hold to when you pay per visit, and there is no reason to keep coming once you can train on your own. The rehabilitation overview shows how a plan changes from early to late recovery.
How much does sports physical therapy cost at MOTiV?
$150for the initial evaluation
The initial evaluation is $150. All follow-up visits within one episode of care are$125. Packages bring the per-visit price down, and Be Strong clients get 10% off single visits and packages, excluding a la carte services. That discount cannot be combined with other promotions.
| Option | Price | Per visit | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Initial physical therapy evaluation | $150 | single visit | Your first visit with Storm. |
| Follow-up visit | $125 | single visit | Each visit after the evaluation. |
| 4 follow-up visits | $450 | $112.50 | Saves $50 against 4 single follow-ups. Valid one year. |
| 8 follow-up visits | $850 | $106.25 | Saves $150 against 8 single follow-ups. Valid one year. |
| 12 follow-up visits | $1,200 | $100 | Saves $300 against 12 single follow-ups. Valid one year. |
What changes your total is the number of follow-ups, so the plan length above matters more than any single price. MOTiV does not bill insurance. See every MOTiV price on one page.

What else do people ask about sports physical therapy?
Is sports physical therapy different from regular physical therapy?
Not in license or training: sports physical therapy is physical therapy. The difference is the goal. A sports plan aims past getting through the day and back to the running, lifting or sport you care about, so the later stages look like training rather than rest.
How long is an initial evaluation?
The initial evaluation is generally 60 minutes. It combines a discussion of your goals with a movement and strength assessment, individualized exercise, and hands-on treatment when appropriate. Follow-up visits are generally 50 to 60 minutes. The first visit includes completing intake forms that screen for precautions.
Can I train while I am in physical therapy?
That depends on the injury, and it is one of the first things to settle with Storm at the evaluation: what to keep, what to change and what to pause. MOTiV is inside Be Strong, so the training floor is in the same building as the treatment.
Should I see a physical therapist or a doctor first for a sports injury?
MOTiV welcomes direct bookings and physician referrals. Call to discuss your injury if you are unsure where to start; Storm can explain whether his services fit your needs.
